BMW R60-S, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

A BMW R60-S model found parking while taking my morning stroll in one of Givatayim street.
License plate designated as a "collection vehicle" (not seen on the picture).

Some 20,133 of these 600cc R60 were built between 1956 to 1969. A shaft-drive, opposed twin, 30 hp engine with four-stroke two-cylinders.

Hello Ike,
I have already commented photos of a scooter and an old Mercedes today, so I should give my compliments to this motorbike as well. It is impressive with its size and the mainly red and black details. I would have thought it to be a collectors' item, but I didn't know there were special license plates for such vehicles. I think this made you morning stroll a bit more interesting. The photo is nicely taken and perfectly but tightly cropped.

Hi Ike,
Fis2 shows old cars and you show old motorcycles. There is something photogenic about those old machines. Certainly the design has evolved since.
The BMW logo has not changed still having the Bavarian colors in it.

Hello Ike,

I think spotting old vehicles is a trend, today!
This looks like a cracker of a bike, with a powerful engine. (Len had a motorbike when we were courting but not as powerful as this!)

I'm not surprised that you were tempted to photograph it! Your photograph is really sharp, capturing the details clearly for us to see.

I suppose the close crop is to avoid distractions from other features nearby.
