Al Hamra is another of the villages built in mud and stone now abandoned. But inside a museum house survives, in which objects from the past are preserved, witnesses of life in this village in the not so distant past. There is also a room where ancient crafts are revived, like this lady able to mix scents and essences to obtain different and unique fragrances. In the room there was also another lady who cooked bread on a wood fire and the air was really full of smoke. The result is a beautiful photographic effect that you can also see in the 2 WS.

LA PRODUTTRICE DI PROFUMI

Al Hamra � un altro dei villaggi costruiti in fango e pietra oramai abbandonato. Ma all'interno sopravvive una casa museo, in cui sono conservati oggetti del passato ,testimoni della vita in questo villaggio in un passato non molto lontano. Vi � anche una stanza in cui si rivivono gli antichi mestieri, come questa signora in grado di miscelare profumi ed essenze per ottenere differenti ed uniche fragranze. Nella stanza vi era anche un'altra signora che cuoceva il pane su un fuoco a legna e l'aria era davvero piena di fumo. Ne � scaturito un bell'effetto fotografico che potete vedere anche nei 2 WS.

The finished product looks surprisingly marketable and probably has more volume and strength of aroma then many commercial brands. A good daily life scene from Oman of the home made perfume. The 3 rays of light make the shot. Tfs!

An interesting and very well observed image. This makes me think long and deep as her look and the stuff on display glue the eye! She appeared so relax and perfectly placed at the third to make the shot function. Plenty of interesting highlights within the tight frame full of local flavours, - the essence that tells it's own story of an interesting moment all render so much live. The gorgeous light shaft is shining thru' - as a bonus point creating an awesome back lighting effect. A picture with a more appealing light while vividly capturing the depth of feeling. A strong daily life and delightfully capture.

PS: I think slight under expose will still work fine imho, nevertheless your personal choice is respected.

It's a bit unusual to see photos of women from the countries on the Arabian peninsula. Even though it's their job to be photographed by tourists these two are still a nice change from all men, and they contribute a lot of colours. And it's always interesting to see people at work, almost regardless of what they are doing. A great asset of these photos is also the fantastic light coming in from high above, and which you captured very well.

They all reveal the very different life styles of this community but your main post captures an exquisite scene of the lady, nicely posed before her essences and scents, with amazing shafts of light descending, creating a scene which seems almost religious.

Amazing image that should be on a gallery wall or on the cover of a book about Oman. The rays of light shining through the smoke are fantastic and so well captured and I also like the traditional clothes and all the bottles and jars - lots of details to look at.
