Photographer's Note
Mar Saba is a Greek Orthodox monastery in the West Bank, east of Bethlehem. It is one of the oldest inhabted monasteries in the world, another being Saint Catherine's Monastery in the Sinai peninsula of Egypt where it is believed Moses saw the burning bush.
The traditions of the monastery live on to this day and women are not permittedto enter the monastery.
I visited the monastery on a rainy day and although the sky was grey, the scenery was extraordinary as the monastery sits in a particularly beautiful valley with a stream flowing through it - although I'm not sure whether it dries up in the hat of the summer.

Hi Craig,
Beautiful view on this amazing big monastery. The place seems to be very isolated in this arid valley.
Maybe you can add a bit saturation to compensate the grey sky?
Best regards,
Catherine
