Photographer's Note
This woman is 80 years old. She has a perfect memory. We were intended for buying a house from her village. While we were walking on the narrow roads of the village we met this woman. As a joke, we asked her about the prices.
It was unbelievable, she told us all of the houses' prices, who owned, which one sold and how much. She even pointed out that there is a heavy speculative purchases around.
The joke turned out to a serious conversation and we all get too astonished.
Location : Old Datca/Mugla/Turkey
Some information about the area :
The Carians settled in south western part of Anatolia, between the Menderes River and K鰕cegiz Lake and named this area as Caria. The Dat鏰 Peninsula was also located within these borders, and today it's in the Aegean region of Turkey. After the Turkish Republic (1923) was founded the Peninsula regained its old name of "Dat鏰". Today Dat鏰 is a district of the province Mugla. Some of the important sights to visit in Dat鏰 are: The mosque in Hizirsah village was inherited from the Seljuks period. It has been restored and is well worth seeing. Eski Dat鏰 (Old Dat鏰, 4 km) with beautiful old stone houses, holiday and permanent residences of many Europeans and Turks, is showing typical architecture of the area. Cnidus was famous for its naked statue of Aphrodite. Kizlan and its windmills, which have become a symbol for Dat鏰, is worth visiting. There are the remains of some ceramic manufactures between Old Dat鏰 and Hizirsah village thought to have been worked during the 4th century BC.

I like this picture very much. The deep lines and dark eyes make for a very captivating photo. I posted a workshop version but really this is just an exaggeration of what you had already done just to make the face look even more craggy.

When I saw this picture as a thumbnail, I thoughtsomeone posted a passport-snap ;-)
Consequence of this tight framing is that the face has to tell the story. As I understood from your note, she definitely could tell stories :-)
The photo could do with a bit more contrast as jbweasle indicated already, and I would have tried my sepia-filter-setting.
B.T.W. did you get a house ?

This is such a solid, strong, face. The lines give her such age and shows that she has seen a lot. And that she knows everything. It also has the wrinkles of hard times and good times and in the end making it through everything. Perhaps more contrast would make it much punchier and giver her even stronger feeling, especially in those dark eyes.

Bulent, this is very nice. Maybe underexposure could have achieved more texture in the face. Nonetheless, the very bright light makes her look fragile which is kinda good.
