Mars territory on the Earth, a photo from Nevsehir, Central Anatolia

Photographer's Note

I flick a little between the pictures. I have been to many places in the last 6 years, I want to show you all of them at once. :-)
The area is located in Central Anatolia, also known as Cappadocia. Extremely spectacular geological formations can be found here, the landscape was shaped by erosion. People have lived in the seemingly dead area for thousands of years, their flats either solved underground or with cave dwellings carved into the rocks that fit it. How they were able to make a living is a mystery to me.

The area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

All those tufa formations are great to wander around aren't they. When I visited they all talked about the Star Wars connection which did some filming there. A good one of this unique area.

Hi Csaba.

A good sharp view of these wonderful rock pillars standing out against the blue sky. Most of them have a little rock sitting on top like a cap. The angle of the sun shows up all the little details in the rocks.

Hi Csaba,

I fondly remember my first hot air balloon flight in Goreme, Cappadocia. It was quite the experience! I also did a lot of hiking and sightseeing around the town. Truly a magical part of the world. Tfs!
