Kabak Mountain, a photo from Mugla, Aegean

Photographer's Note

Despite an extensive search, I was unable to find out the name of this mountain. Taken from the western ridge behind Kabak Beach which is hidden in this shot. The name of the township on the opposite side of the valley and the other side of the 700 metre peak seen here is Karaağa�, (Dark Tree), but that didn't tell me much either, as there are around 20 such identical place names throughout Turkey. Kabak is the end of the road and as at 2014 was relatively undeveloped. I may have to load more shots of this scenic area which is poorly represented on Trekearth. Partly obscured by the trees are some ecolodges and pensions, which are preferable to the high rise hotels springing up in Hisaronu, Oludeniz & Fethiye.

Hello Chris,
A tree can make an impression as strong as a mountain, and in this case the tree to the right and the mountain balance each other well. They are both very good focal-points and furthermore the photo has a very good light and colours, not to mention the fine sharpness.

Hello Chris,
A great combination of the rocky mountain peak and the bright green of the trees in the foreground. They stand out so well against the blue sky as well. I really like the clear sunlight, which shows the details so nicely.

A beautiful landscape with few elements, but the twisted shapes of the pines and their greenery complement that rocky peak very well, the intense blue sky is ideal.
A beautiful composition, with great colors, splendid light and the sharpness is excellent with fine details.
