Photographer's Note
Visiting Istanbul is impossible to miss this place !!!
The Blue Mosque .....an unique monument in my favorite color...the blue
It was founded by Sultan Ahmet I. He ordered Architect Mehmed AgaBlue Mosque from air to begin construction in 1609 and the whole complex was completed in 1616. The location of the mosque is just opposite of the splendid Church of Hagia Sophia as it is trying to compete with it. That is actually true because Architect Mehmed wanted to construct a bigger dome then Hagia Sophia's but he could not succeed. Instead, he made the mosque splendid by the perfect proportion of domes and semidomes as well as the splendid minarets.....6 minarets....the unique with 6 :)
I think this last TE meeting in Istanbul was the ONE for me!means I enjoyed so much, maybe to much because I already miss Turkey, and all our friends from there

Bonsoir Isabela,
Magnifique, la lumière scintille de partout, c'est assez magique.Le fond sombre renforce l'effet de lumière à travers les vitraux.

absolutely stunning shot, Isabela, I like a lot how you let the darkness bring out the colour and textures in the windows. beautifully composed photo too, the almost invisible chandelier creates a mysterious mood, while the lone dark silhouette of the man is a very good illustration of contemplation and meditation, of prayer. very elegant photo, my compliments.
best,
Kristine
p.s. why would you say that the framing is not good? I find it excellent, the way the light plays in the windows creates a sort of triangle, that adds uplifting feeling to the shot despite the darkness.

Bonsoir Isabelle,
Extraordinary photo of contrasts between black and light.
Very difficult to realize to have no overexposed parts. The atmosphere of peace is magnificent and stressed by the silhouette in front of the window.
Very well done, a great shot...

Hello Isabela,
After all your snow pictures you surprise me with this one. The light here is very good through the windows and on the street, but more impressive is your composition how you created this one...an exceptional very good photo.
Seems you had a nice meeting ;-)

Hello Isabala,
I have seen quite a few photos taken from the inside of the Hagia Sophia, but not nearly as many from the interior of the Blue Mosque. The view from the inside is spectactular and the stained glass is marvelous! It is interesting to see non-Christain patterns on the stained glass. I have never been inside of a mosque and I know that the Koran takes a dim view of human iconography, so the Islamic stained glass patterns are very interesting for me to view. The candles in the foreground, the beautiful stained glass and the windows are very elegant and graceful looking. Thanks for sharing this excellent photograph and for giving me a peek inside of this grand structure.

Hi Isabela,
Very nice play between the dark wall and the light filtered with these beautiful grids! The visual effect is amazing. The lonely man at the corner is too a great subject for the shot. Very graphical an expressive shot! Thanks.
Greetings,
Angel.

Hello dear Isabella,
One of my favorite sites in the world, photographed to perfection! This is an unusual composition, creating a veritable matrix, or a regular array of the windows. The light that comes through the stained glass creates such lovely subtle hues. I knew from Mesut about the TE-gathering in Istanbul, how much fun it must have been. Istanbul, photogenic, incredible,, unforgettable metropolis — a living museum — with one foot in the West, the other in the East. Was this your first time there?
