Manneken Pis in Ottawa

Manneken Pis (Little man Pee) is a landmark small bronze sculpture in Brussels, depicting a naked little boy urinating into a fountain's basin.
Here you can see a more descent copy of the famous statue in Ottawa � Canada.
Biermarkt is a chain of restaurants in Canada that offers 150 different beers of 30 countries.
I suppose drinking beer and urinating is here the link with Manneken Pis.

I see the same boy's immigrated to canada but dressed differently.
Nice replica, the colors of the flag added nice tones matching the "BIERMARKET" sign.

Where I live such a small boy would not be allowed to have a beer, but maybe the laws are different in Canada. ;-)
It's a very good and catchy photo anyway, with that little figure half dressed in the same colour as the very obvious sign, and with the semi-circular window behind him. It's nicely spotted and well cropped and I like the distinct red, black and white features..

Ze hebben hem niet alleen wat gekuist, maar dat ook nog eens op z'n Canadees gedaan met een echt mapleleafje. Het voegt een mooi extra rood element toe, naast zijn cape en de letters.

Ha! Ha! Rob, I just love the humour!
Yes, where men are concerned, in my experience, there is a strong link between beer and pee! This small child is probably just emulating his 'pee'rs. Sorry, couldn't resist!

Your photograph is very nicely cropped to give a pleasing, compact composition. The letters are so vibrant against the black b/g and help to bring attention to the small boy and his fig leaf!

I do like the depth created by the reflected letters in the glass.

Nog merkwaardiger vind ik dat de Canadezen voor de restaurantketen een Nederlandstalige benaming gekozen hebben.
In Japan bestaat er een keten die wafels verkoopt met de naam 'Manneken Pis'. Vreemde smaak, die Japanners.
Het rood van de letters bovenaan, van de vlag en van het zedige blad zorgen voor een enorme aantrekkingskracht van de foto.
Mooi gedaan.

Ik kan me niet een dag herinneren dat ik urineerde met een boomblaadje voor mijn jongeheer, zelfs niet als het aantal genuttigde biertjes meer was dan voorgenomen...
Weer een leuke tekstfoto.
Overigens verbaas ik me erover dat de horeca-keten koos voor een merknaam in het Nederlands. Lag Beer-market niet meer voor de hand?

Hello Rob, Funny picture of this boy but not peeing, like his friend from Brussels. But probably there is a connection of the beer and this activity. Hopefully not in the street. I wonder if there iare also the beers from Poland there. But it is not the place for me, I drink no beer... The red letters are very eyecatching. Nicely composed and amusing picture and note.
