This is not the first photo of Parliament Hill in Ottawa I post. The other one was taken over a year ago at the end of the afternoon, however I would like to show this twilight version, taken a couple of minutes before sunset, too.

Seen here is Centre Block of the Canadian Parliamentary Complex, which contains the House of Commons and the Senate. It was built between 1916 and 1927 after the original building had burnt down. The 92m-high clock tower, known as the Peace Tower, has become a Canadian icon. People on the lawn here were waiting for a light show, which would start at 10pm.

This is such a mighty and impressive building, is always a pleasure to see it. This is a wonderful view and a great time of day to get this muted light that makes the building look even more imposing. Very cool photo

Hi Lars,

The presence of the people is animating the scene. The distance between the rope and the buildings is gving depth to the composition. Using a long exposure speed and probably a support is showing the details of the Paliament building in Ottawa. Have a nice day.

Hello Lars,
the outline of the building looks so elegant in your well-considered composition, the facade looks a little dark in the thumbnail and it's amazing to see how clear and interesting it looks in the large picture. The details of the whole scene are marvellous and I also like the natural and moody colours. Very fine work, congratulations and thank you!

Hello Lars,
The building is well known, but what makes this photo particular is the fine atmosphere of early evening that you have captured. There are beautiful traces of the last rays of the sun on the building, and the pale light of the sky, with the typical thin clouds of summer, is very appealing. Most of all I like the people sitting on the lawn in the foreground, just talking quietly while enjoying the view and the warm evening at the height of summer.

Well composed placing the vertical lines centrally and allowing the lens barrel distortion at the sides to angle. The scaffolding on the turret at top left nicely breaks the repetitive patterns. Tfs!

Hallo Lars,
Dit parlement is een reusachtig groot gebouw en imposant. Ook met grote open ruimtes er om heen.
Blijkbaar mag men hier wel op het gras lopen, zelfs een plaatsje innemen voor de lichtshow.
Prachtige zachte tinten in de lucht.

Bonjour Lars,

Tu n'as vraiment pas 閠� chanceux avec la lumi鑢e pour prendre le beau parlement canadien en photo. Ou bien il est trop t魌 ou bien il est trop tard. Il faut attendre un peu pour le spectacle.

yes, this is certainly the classic Postcard type of shot here isn't it, and thats ok too.

sometimes these twilight conditions can be a bit tricky, but you managed it well. The Peace Tower looks great, as does the pale blue sky. Did you stay for the light show too? how was it? sweet shot

Dag Lars,

Ook al aan zeshonderd foto's op TE, zo snel gaat het allemaal, gelet mijn leeftijd weet ik niet hoelang ik nog on TE kan actief zijn, maar nu gaat het nog.
Het is heel raar maar uw foto toont zoveel korrel on de gebouwen, het blijkt of de foto is teveel opgescherpt, ik weet het niet echt, maar de mensen vertonen ook de verscherping randen.
Misschien geef u mij de oplossing.
