I was really lucky here. I had things to do all day and at the last minute I decided to grab my gear and drive. I really couldn't find a great spot and the sky started changing color really fast. By looking at the clouds I knew this was going to be a great sunset. I was really getting pissed that I would miss such a beautiful one. Luckily I saw this little park and a river at the end of it. I quickly parked and started running because time was running out. I was really not in a good location and missed most of that terrific light but happy I managed to get one quick shot before it quickly disappeared.

Pat,
Well i definately think your last minute decision paid off. The colors are incredible, especially the water. Although the color seems a bit saturated right where the sun is setting, the river is incredible.
Great catch!

Hi Pat,
Just noticed your gallery a few day ago and will be watching it with great interest. Am curious about your technical applications in a general sense. Without disclosing your trade secrets, does your editing include additional saturation or other color modifications because to my untrained eye, some of the colors appear somewhat unnatural? Would appreciate your comments. As to this photo, I am impressed by how you use time exposure techniques to capture the movement of water. Great shot and thanks for sharing on TE. Gerald

Hi Pat, good choice of POV to make maximum use of the cloud and landschape lines to create depth. Lovely colours and great result on the water with the long exposure.

Hi Pat,
Great capture of these colors. Nature gave you some fabulous light but your positioning of the rivulets in the foreground and the slow shutter speed really make this sumptuous. Beautiful.
Cheers!
