I've been dreaming of travel out of Australia but the chances of our borders being reopened before 2022 are very slim.
So I thought I'd take my dreaming somewhere else - this time to Alberta in Canada in 2012.
To start with a walk to Consolation Lakes in Banff National Park. The walk starts near Moraine Lake not far from the much more famous and visited famous Lake Louise.
Because Consolation Lakes is a bear nursery area you have to walk in groups pf no less than 4. Fortunately a German couple of similar age and fitness were waiting at the start for partners so we enjoyed a good walk with them. We didn't see any bears.
Here above the lake is a view of the valley side and a distant peak taken with autumn colour.
In the workshop are 2 more photos, one a closer photo of the peak on the right and one without perfect sharpness taken with maximum zoom of a very cute Pica who's danger call gives away their location amongst the rocks.
