Photographer's Note

This bastion was built in the 17th century and received its name from the Franciscan Order that evangelized the Yucatan peninsula. It is the second largest and the one that safeguarded the Gate to Land, one of the access to the ancient walled city (today historic centre).
It has a surface area of 1342 m2, on which were three vaults: barracks, storeroom and guardroom.
