Photographer's Note
South Coyote Buttes is an area of outstanding beauty, but is extremly fragile and this is why a limit of 20 people per day has been set up by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Hello Derek
Sublime rock textures and beautiful blue skies with a good composition. The colours are very natural indeed. It is a shame these places are being limited but it is for the good of the land.

Derek,
Cracking detail in the foreground! - and a good balance struck between this shady area and the brightly lit sky.
It's quite a subtle shot, but very pleasing, very real.

Hi Derek,
Exceptional detail and very well managed light here. The gorgeous sky/clouds provide a wonderful canopy over this unusual place. Well done and TFs. Gerald

Olá Derek, excellent exposure control, considering all this FG is at the shadow. We still can see lots of details and observe that the surface is fragile, indeed. Wonderful bright blue sky enhancing. Beautiful.

Great shot, Derek. Heavily underrated, so far.
Perfect exposure, which accounts for beautiful light and colors, and outstanding definition.
I've been here recently, but them passes were sold out for the day. Next time better.
Have a good evening, I'll be seeing ya.
Ciao,
Fulvio.

Derek,
despite seeing all the recent magnificent and outstanding UK seascape shots in your gallery I have to first and get a glimpse and critique for the american landscape. South Coyote Buttes is one of my big dreams and I'm almost positive to get there next year. YOur shots of this area are highly inspirational to me. I like the way how you handled the light here and providing all the details of the fragil soil against the dark polarized sky. Great work!

Hi Derek,
A place i've never been but i would like to visit it one day. The whole are breaths the word Photograpghy and seeing your picture it shows again why that is. Very very very interesting patterns in the foreground over the rocks, but also your light control has a perfect balance...no wonder with that 5D and fine piece of glass attached on it...perfect work..!!!

Hello Derek!
Very nice picture, what I like most here is the beautiful cloud formation.
I´m not sure, but maybe the picture would look even better if you gave the sky 2/3 of the picture and left 1/3 for the rocks.
But I also like it as you present it.
Jonas
