Sunset from Hermosa Beach pier.
The third pier at this site, it was built in 1965 to replace the previous concrete pier that was constructed in 1913 and destroyed in a storm; the first pier was wooden and built in 1904.
Here on Santa Monica bay, the nicest sunsets are in the winter -- not only for the clear air and interesting clouds, but also that is when the sun sets into the ocean. In the summer the sun sets over the mountains of Malibu.

it really is muy hermosa.
I like the reflections of the sunset that appear on the right on the metal bars. Very interesting also that no reflections coming from the sea. Somehow the angle of incident has not created that.
