Winter In Desert Oasis, a photo from Nevada, West

Photographer's Note

Another winter storm came through the Las Vegas valley Sunday to early Monday morning dumping lot of snow, unfortunately I was having cataract surgery Monday morning so I was not able to go out and take pictures.

This natural spring-fed oasis made for a great stopping point and probably save lives of those pioneers who made their trip to the western U.S. frontier on horses and wagons. Taken at the oasis in the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park which is about 15 miles (24 km) west of Las Vegas.

Hi Eleu,
A fine partly-cloudy but bright winter day, brought this marvelous sight over the lake.
Blue sky reflection is a great asset for the composition.
View till fat horizon with the mountains is immaculate.

This is a very attractive scenery and an excellent photo. I love the mild colors and the superb softness of the lake╯ surface, and of course the perfect reflections. You placed the reeds very nicely in the foreground.
I hope your surgery went well. I had two of those in the early 90's and I can still see reasonably well ;-).

Wow, what a great landscape. The natural colours in this fine light and the clouds make this a really stunning view. The reflections in the calm water are gorgeous too and you composed the photo really cleverly, placing the peak on the left hand side.

That landscape id so beautiful, with clear ochre tones and saturated blues on sky and water.
Differences between seasons are not so clear over there. No snow and hot summer isn't probably that much greener.

we don't get to see many of these nature type of photos in your gallery, so this is a sweet surprise.

I like how the scene fades away into the depths from the left to right, its very attractive that way.

wonderful looking clouds too, and the reflections a total bonus. Hope your surgery went well.
