Photographer's Note

Grand Prismatic Spring

I don抰 really have a suitable reflection photo to look back on 2019, but my year on TrekEarth can be summarised as such:
Number of photos posted: 166 (+12 compared to 2018)
Number of photographed countries: 9 (USA, CAN, NED, CZE, UK, GER, MLT, SWI, FRA)
Most photographed country: United States (70)
Least photographed countries: The Netherlands, France (1)
New countries added to my map: Czechia, Malta
Highest rated photo: Luzzus in Marsaxlokk (90)

But enough about last year, a new year has started and I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. Like I said before, I wanted to save the best-known feature in the Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park for a special occasion, so here it is: the Grand Prismatic Spring, the largest hot spring in the United States and the third-largest in the world. The water is 70 degrees Celsius and the blue of the water makes a wonderful contrast with the orange tones of the surrounding microbial mat. A boardwalk takes visitors close to the spring, I added a picture of it to the WS (including some reflections).
