Mountain Sunset, a photo from New South Wales, East

Photographer's Note

Sunset at Katoomba in the "Blue Mountains", west of Sydney. I think it was worth waiting for.
Lens flare... mmm.. a bad thing ? I tried to clone them out but I wasn't happy, so I left them in... Feel free to try ;)

PS: I added the workshop this morning ti lighten things up. I think better...

Excellent sunset shot, Chris, amazing colors and very good contrast. I like the silhouette of the tree and the large dark area. Well done.

It's an unusual sunset photo Chris. Many darkness in this composition... But I like it, especially this branch on the left side and part of sky we can see. I also like this slightly enlighted grass.

I like the shot, I am familiar with the Blue Mountains as I use to ride around there quite a fair bit when I use to ride a motorcycle.

I have not been there since last year, when I took a day trip to Laura (spelling?)

The darkness is great and I like how there is golden colour breaking up the darkness. The clouds are a nice shape and the sun is at a nice level.

And I like the lens flare, makes it look real, not fake or edited.

I like it!

Beautiful sunset with great silhouette, The flare is Ok for me but I reckon it's too much dark on the half bottom. Just my opinion, hope you don't mind. Anyway a great shot.

The big amount of dark space at the bottom is something to get used to, but after a while I have to say it's a nice twist from the usual presentation of sunsets, so why not go for it. The way the clouds are lit from below is a big asset in this shot, as is the fine silhouette of the tree on the left. I don't mind the lens flare that much and appreciate you're posting this shot as it is, very genuine. Well done, Chris.

With the tree on the left and the splendid colors of the clouds it is perfect but can be would be necessary it to cross a little in bottom of the photograph, well considering.
