Photographer's Note
At this time of year in Australia, many of the local vinyards are fruiting. Unfortunately it is also a time when the local crows and parrots are very well fed!
I would love to know if this is a local tradition only, or if this is a common sight elsewhere around the world.

Very nice photo. Very well exposed and the colors are very sharp.
Although my country, Greece, was got a lot of vinyards I am not sure I have ever seen a net like this. I am sure the use nets when the collect olives, though.

Very interesting technique to keep away the birds, Chris. I haven't seen this in Germany or Austria - in Austria they often use wooden windwheels that would give away a cracking sound to frighten away the birds, but obviously that only works if there is, well, wind. You captured the scene here well, the white nets almost look as if the wine plants were wearing a bridal veil. Well seen, thanks for sharing.

In Denmark you can see the same sight in some strawberries fields (mostly in private gardens) and on cherry trees - but I have never seen it on grapes before (We do have grapes here - in fact there's people producing wine here as well)
Thanks for sharing this daily life image - nice to see have thing done down under.

Neat shot and idea to capture this. That bright color catches the eye. I would love to see the size of the field all covered in netting.
