Photographer's Note
Not quite a Dinosaur, but I am sure a distant relative. This is a Black Rhinoceros on display at Taronga Zoo, Sydney. Rather than the wide shot which makes it an obvious zoo photo, I thought it was more interesting to concentrate on the unique nature of the Rhino's head... giving me the eye ;)

This is a very very original cropping, Chris, and a very original composition. It really looks like a dinosaur, but try to rotate it 180 degrees and see what you get.
Very very good one, Chris, I like it very much.

I like the emphasis on the horns and eye. Nicely framed with the little extra space in front of and above the horns. Just a pity that the shadow falls across the eye and somewhat deadens it.

Sure you had succeeded at what you intended to do with this pix. Cropping are tight and effective. Almost dinosaur, could be the same skin texture but maybe not the size !
Looked like this rhino's got a skin disease that MJ has !

A fine tight frame with fine concentration to the eye like every good portrait.

The tight and clever cropping gives this animal photo an unusual power. The eye and the two horns are perfectly placed in the frame. The backlight and dark background isolates the firgure well. Very good.

Other than being an excellent photo for its techical merits,I found this to be one of those interesting "make you think" captures.
I am not sure exactly why Chris, but for me the photo brought out how much nature devotes itself through its evolutionary process to focus on means of either defense or means of attack.
Is man all that different? Sorry for the diversion...but that's what good photos are supposed to do :-)

Excellent composition! This makes a very interesting shot! Some more sharpness on the horn area specifically and you would get a perfect shot, if "perfect" exist! ;-)
