Photographer's Note
Not a very feelgood photo, but an image of daily life nevertheless. This lady seemed very content feeding the birds in Hyde Park, Sydney. The number of bags of bread she was carrying, and the birds that kept on flying in, suggested that this was a regular thing for both the lady and the birds.

This a real amazing shot (hornets) - I can recognize the Pigeons and the Sea gulls - but the third kind of birds unknown to me - This must be wild birds - she really got the trust of these birds - very well done.

It is indeed an absolute slice of daily life, Chris. Older people "feeding the birds" seems to be a universal thing, as is the fact that they all get considerably more fun and pleasure out of it than one might think when witnessing such a scene. Your photo is well captured, with the old lady almost drowning in a sea of birds. Interesting to see the Ibis, and to read in your forum post to Jeppe that those are actually considered a pest.

Indeed, not a feelgood photo, Chris. The low angle, letting her contrast to the background, increase the feeling of her loneliness, not having else as the birds for "social" contact.
According to your note she spend a lot of time there...
A less beautiful, but real existing part of life, well observed.

it os a very good daily life shot, Chris. we can see those people everywhere. the pink surface gives the correct mood to this photo, and I like the black area of pigeons,
I don't know the long-beak birds, are they common in Australia.
Well done, Chris.

Good shot Chris, this photo now becomes a stake in the history of this lady feeding the birds. She's still there.
Thanks, John
