Photographer's Note
Last week, some of us here on TE received the terrible news of the sad passing of our dear friend Les Bennett, Williewhistler. I was very fortunate to have met Les and his lovely wife Gladys, Jadesgran. They were a truly beautiful couple, who loved each other so much. Les was one of Nature's gentlemen and will be missed by us all. Les took beautiful photos of the sea, of the moors and loved his home England and his second home, Australia. I will never forget sipping champagne with Les and Gladys on the shores of Sydney Harbour, right under the Bridge.
So I dedicate this photo of the Great Barrier Reef to Les. Here's to absent friends.

Buon weekend! Luciano

Hello Lisa,
It's a beautiful photo, but what a sad message you bring us. I remember Les well as a very good photographer and we exchanged many critiques and comments for a number of years. I knew he had been ill but I hoped he had recovered well. If you keep in touch with his family please convey my condolences.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Lisa,
I didn't know that Les is deceased. I remember his wonderful landscape pictures of the South West of England.
You present us here a splendid aerial view of the Great Barrier Reef but the news is very sad.
If you still have contact with Gladys, please I like to express my condolences.
Best regards, Paul

Bonjour Lisa,
C'est très beau comme photo et très doux à la fois au niveau des formes et des couleurs. On en perd un et malheureusement comme les aiguilles d'une horloge ne tournent que dans une seule direction, on s'en va tous par là.
Amicalement

Hello Lisa
Of course I share your thoughts about Les, with whom I shared many a critique (not all of them completely favourable - as it should be!). Sadly, and despite living only a few hours apart, we never met, although both my parents lived in Devon when they were alive. This seems a very appropriate "homage", and I hope the Great Barrier Reef survives us all...

Hi Lisa!
It's a very beautiful photo and a perfect one to dedicate to Les. I returned to TE this week, just in time to know about his death. He'll be missed here for sure. He used to post so many beautiful photos of his country.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Ciao Lisa

Hello, Lisa!
Really sad news we had these days, and that's a beautiful tribute you make to him, a photo of nature, that he liked so much! The colors of the sea look beautiful here, and these round reefs look very interesting and make the image very attractive! Very nice job!

Ciao Lisa
A nice dedication to Les who will be sadly missed by family and friends, including a sizable number here on Trekearth. Wonderful turquoise and aquamarine colors of the sea and submerged reefs. Tfs!

Hi Lisa
this is the first time i'm hearing of this news, terribly sad and most importantly heart breaking for the family.
It's a reminder, a sad one at that, where we as a family on TE will be loosing members as the years go by.
a beautiful photo and fine tribute to our friend

Carissima Lisa,
Thank you so much for posting such a lovely shot of this tranquil scene and dedicating it to Les. You, of course, had the good fortune to meet Les and Gladys and be inspired by them while I just had to make do with admiring their photographs but also communicating with them both on many occasions through the medium of TE where I found them to be the most delightful couple, so in touch with their beloved Devonshire as well as Australia.
Yes, a beautiful photograph of the Great Barrier Reef, perfectly captured and composed with gorgeous tones and colours.
Beautiful!
Kindest Regards,
John.

Hi Lisa,
Sad news. But so good to hear of you after a longish break. Fascinating high view of the reef. There's so many hues of blue there. As you saw I made a trip to Netherlands Antilles. I didn't learn to dive, but had a pleasure to see reef life through the windows of a real submarine.

Hello Lisa,
When I saw the miniature of your picture, first I felt joy seeing you again but then I read this sad notice. Maybe Les will meet other friends, like Gildas and Patrick thet left us not long time ago. I liked Les nature photos very much and I will miss them. If you have any opportunity, give my condolences to his family.
Wonderful picture.
