Photographer's Note
The view from Mount Oberon over Tidal River, Wilsons Promontory. The township of Tidal River is the National Park Headquarters. The Prom is Australia's southern-most point on the mainland. Next stop is Tasmania. That point is about 2 km to the left of this image. More info here:

Taken on a very overcast day with low cloud looking west over Bass Strait. I liked the sunlight breaking through to the ocean in the distance.

hi chris, indeed a spectacular view but i love the composition where you managed to capture the cloudy sky, overwhelming the land and water: it creates an impression how dangerous can weather be!

Hi Chris,
A nice lookout point to get a vision over the whole region, with this weather the coast looks quite cold and desertic, though the nice beach we see on the left seems appealing if you don't mind the waves.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Wow Chris, a picture of 25 years old and absolutely not bad, the wave in the bay and the different curves make a very nice image.
Well seen!
John.

Bonjour Chris,

Sure a fine vantage point to yield such a sweeping view along the shoreline, Chris. Nice effect with the inlets of land and the islands reaching into the water, and good effect of the scenery diminishing into the haze. Good shot.

the sunlight is amazing Chris. What a viewpoint! I think I would have cropped a bit of the lower part though...

The hazy background gives a mystic touch over this landscape - I like the sight of waves from high altitude - a fine plain view indeed - thanks Chris.

One of my very favourite places, Chris. I really like the viewpoint here, which captures the lovely lines of the Prom and the rest of the coastline. The mood created by the gloomy sky and interesting light is unusual - I like it. The shot holds up well after 25 years!

God shot, Chris. The reflecred sulight erase the horizon line and made the ocean a bit creamy and inteesting, I also like he two land tongues and the far island, as well as the greay sky.

Sawasdee Chris,
I like the overcast sky atmosphere in this picture. The sunlight braking through the ocean help creating a good DOF. Nice Job,

Nice landscape. The way earth enter into the sea and the small islands show that this must be a very beautiful place and a great one to explore. I like the atmosphere and the subtle tones.

Hi Chris - yes, this was the image I was referencing in the note in my version, the way the sun hits the water in the clear spots looks great. It's nice that in 13 years, the size of the parking lots did not increase. This year I will be going earlier in the season but not this far south. I stitched a panoramic version I will post later.

Hi Chris,
The point of view from the top to the bottom is allowing us to see the beauty of this part of Australia. It is also taking our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The cludy sky has a special effect on the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.
Pierre
