Photographer's Note
This is the candle chapel at the Copacabana church, by lake Titicaca. The church houses one of the most revered images of the whole altiplano, the Lady of Copacabana. This was a holy place long before the Spanish arrived in South America, and nowadays represents a melting of ancient and Christian deities. In this chapel, at a side of the main church, people prey to the virgin and leave lit candles as a sign of devotion.
