Sayaca Tanager, a photo from Bahia, Northeast

Photographer's Note

Time for some birds from Bahia! In the hotel I stayed, in Itacar�, there was a piece of trunk right in front of the breakfast tables where they put fruit scraps for the birds, so it was quite easy to take photos of them. Here a sayaca tanager (Tangara sayaca) trying some banana, papaya and watermelon.

An excellent photo of this beautiful bird with its bluish wings, eating from the fruit. The light was perfect and you captured the little creature with very good sharpness and depth of field.

How nice to see one of your birds again. This is an excellent composition, very neatly balanced and with good contrasts between the rough texture of the trunk and the soft dark green background. The very pretty bird is standing in a perfect light when eating the colourful fruits. It's a thoroughly enjoyable photo.

Hello Alexandre, a pretty little bird, you were so lucky to get a close up view.
I like the shallow depth of field concentrating on the feeding bird and a lovely dark bokeh that complements the scene.
The subtle colours of its feathers are beautiful.

Una preciosa imagen con ese bonito pajaro que esta dandose un buen festin con esa gruta, que tambien da unos toques de color a la madera sobre la que esta, bonitos los colores del pajaro del azul al gris.
Muy bonito colorido, en unos tonos, muy atrayentes.
Buena gestion de la luminosidad y una magn韋ica nitidez.

I'd like to know how do you know the species of the birds? do you have great knowledge of birds? perhaps you do :) I certainly do not! I would have no idea what type of bird this is. The birds must love this place, free easy access to daily fruit. I like the pale blue/green colour on its wings, and the bg blurring is excellent too. cheers

Alexandre, the papaya, banana and watermelon attract the little bird on the trunk. It's a good strategy to make the bird stop moving quickly. Good picture quality
