Palm Tanager, a photo from Bahia, Northeast

Photographer's Note

Another bird that stopped for a breakfast in the hotel was this palm tanager (Tangara palmarum), that usually lives in palm trees and can be aggressive with other individuals of the same or other species, so it always came alone to eat.

A photo I was kind of looking forward to. I enjoy your Brazilian birds very much, and even more so when I see them engaged in an important activity like here. There is a lovely balance of colours and a perfect use of the depth of field.

A pin sharp capture of this bird. The textures and colours of its feathers are very clearly seen, the bright orange fruit adds well to the many green tones of the photo.

This is an excellent nature shot!
You have shown the catchlight in the bird's eye, showing excellent sharpness and giving the bird character.

Otro pajarillo captado esplendidamente, aqui su color es mas igual en ese tono verdoso, mientras se da el banquete con el trozo de papaya, parece que esta atentamente mirando, asi que por lo que dices en tu nota este pajaro no parece muy sociable.
Buena nitidez y 髉tima iluminaci髇, que da gran calidad a la imagen.

Hi Alexandre,
its colors resemble from this angle a European green finch.
Beautiful capture.
It is a great idea to use the fruit to attract the birds.
In Europe usually people use some grain and the birds are coming but the photos are not that natural then with the context of the bird feeder, while here it feels as if the bird found the fruit naturally.
