LOVERS'S DAY, a photo from Parana, South

Photographer's Note

The Lovers's Day is celebrated in Brazil at June, 12th. The event was created in 1949 by an adman. The day was choose because it is the eve of Saint Antony day, the patron saint of the the people who want to find a husband or a wife. Of course the celebration was created with commercial interests linked with a religious background that was typical of the Brazilian traditions in the 1940's decade, something is being lose in these last decades.
Here we have a display of a store prepared to sell gifts to the lovers.

O Dia dos Namorados � celebrado no Brasil em 12 de junho. O evento foi criado em 1949 por um publicit醨io que escolheu o dia por ser v閟pera do dia de Santo Ant鬾io, o patrono daqueles que desejam encontrar um marido ou uma esposa. Obviamente � um evento comercial ligado com um fundo religioso, algo que era bem importante na tradi玢o brasileira da d閏ada de 1940, mas que est� se perdendo no decorrer das d閏adas, se tornando completamente comercial.
Vemos aqui uma loja preparada para o evento.

The display is also looking the same as for St.Valentine day on February 14. The point of view is showing the details of the display. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

It's interesting to read that there's a special Lover's Day in Brazil, and not just the usual Valentine's Day that we already know. Nice capture of this display, with all the hearts and the smiling teddy bear. Take care!

A nice photo of the shopping window with a lot of red hearts. The teddy bear is well placed in the centre as well.

Hi Jorge,
In Poland St Anthony is a patron saint for difficult and "lost cases" but I suppose for some people finding a partner may be quite a difficult job to do.
Lovely composition here. Hearts present in so many shapes and forms.

Buena fecha para el dia de los Enamorados, en Espa馻 se celebra el 14 de Febrero.
El escaparate esta bien adornado para el evento y muy apropiado con todos esos corazones, el oso de peluche me parece encantador.
Muy buen color que resalta la fuerza de la imagen.
