Photographer's Note
This year Fumacinha had a lot more water than during my first visit in 2008, wherefore the - under normal conditions - already pretty difficult 2-day-hike turned into a real adventure. ;-)
The Canion da Fumacinha is located in the southern most part of the Chapada Diamantina National Park.

Hello Karsten,
This is a view of jaw dropping power and beauty. You've composed and exposed the image to perfection! Well done. The use of a tripod was wise for a 1/10 second shutter speed. The static areas are sharp, whereas the falling water appears like a a gaseous fluid.
Warm regards,
Bulent

It's a beautiful stand-alone image, but the person really gives it scale. What an amazing place! Nice work...everything looks perfect!

Hello Karsten,
A wonderful capture, perfectly composed and from an excellent POV. The scale is noticed well by including the person standing on the rock.
Very good use of exposure and shutter speed.
I'll bet you're glad you carried your tripod on the trek.
Certainly a capture of monumental proportions, congratulations.
Regards
Peter

Hello Karsten
A truly spectacular shot using slow shutter speed. The detail on the rocks is impressive as is the man in red and yellow - he give a sense of perspective to this location. Tfs, Marlene

Linda captura, e que Fumacinha fantástica! Me chamou a atenção aquele aventureiro corajoso por alí. Parabéns, bom trabalho.

Hi Karsten:
Great shot. The hiker in the foreground on the moss covered rock really grounds it well, and adds to the surreal effect. The sloping canyon walls draw the focus to the waterfall. Good lighting and mechanical judgment.
Congratulations.

Hallo Kartsen,
