Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, a photo from Minas Gerais, Southeast

Photographer's Note

This church, built in 1776, is Aleijadinho's masterpiece and the highest expression of the rococo style. It has some oddly military features, such as cylindrical towers that look like watchtowers, and roofs that resemble helmets adorned with spears.
The Cross of Lorena, with two arms flanked by balls of fire, is especially impressive. Inside, Aleijadinho created sculptures for the pulpits, wood panels, a soapstone sculpted door, the main chapel's altars, and the fountain of the sacristy. Mestre Athayde painted the ceiling, which appears higher thanks to the arrangement of the columns and parapets.

Ciao Lucas,
una bella chiesa a cui tu hai dato il giusto merito con questa bella immagine.
Il cielo � spettacolare e contrasta bene con la chiesa dal punto di vista cromatico, facendo anche da ottimo sfondo.
Ottima gestione della luce e ottimo sharp.
La coppia sulla destra d� un tocco di vita alla scena.

Sorry for being silent for about 3 weeks, but I was working in Bangkok where the internet is so slow, that I really had to take the decision to suspend TE for 3 weeks and come back when I'm again in Alor Star e.g. Malaysia where I arrived this afternoon.

The sharpness of this shot is very impressive despite the the tilt which your lens produced. The color hues are well reproduced. By including the couple at the right, we can understand better the dimension of your shot. Good photo job

A wonderfully classic shot of the front of a Rococo church. Beautifully decorated front door with many carvings. The round towers are also specific, not popular in church constructions.
