The old Estrada de Ferro Oeste de Minas (EFOM), opened in 1881 by the Emperor Dom Pedro II, opens a path between the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest to take tourists on a beautiful tour through the mountains of the São José complex. In addition to the natural beauty, the tour also has great tourist and cultural attractions such as the Rotunda, the incredible turning of the locomotive - carried out manually, preserving the custom of the time of the steam train - and the Railway Museum.
There are 12 km of crossing through a beautiful ecological diversity and landscapes that still preserve the architecture of the 19th century. All of this on board the oldest steam locomotive in operation in Brazil.

Hi Lucas,a very original way to turn the locomotive in the opposite way to go back in the same railway,i seen something like that during my trips but i don't remember where, maybe in Cuba but i'm not sure. A perfect capture in the best moment to give us the best idea of what happens. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Oi Lucas,
Nota 10

Hello Lucas,
The old black steam engine is a wonderful museum treasure and kept in a perfect shape. This is an exciting photo showing how it is manually turned in the opposite direction, like I remember sometimes seeing in my childhood. The obviously hard work of the two men makes the photo very dynamic. The people in the background and the many bright colours also make this an enjoyable photo.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Lucas,
Fantastic action shot of this muscle powered turntable. It is barely wide enough for this impressive steam locomotive. You have just the right angle with the loco.

Lucas, a tour with that old locomotive should be pleasant. The visitors can enjoy the landscape slowly. It is still turned manually like in the past. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Ola Lucas,
Wonderful sight when turning the steam-engine, always an intriguing moment on picture. People in the background also shown well as they were watching.
We do not have steam-engine in riding condition in Israel, only one in a museum.
Boa tardes,
Ike
*** As for the low-angle take-off: it used most of the 3/4 of the #26 runway, and believe me I know to recognize such a heavy climb.
Obrigado for stopping by.

Hi Lucas,
You have captured well the action of the men rotating the locomotive. The point of view is showing the details of the locomotive and of the wagon. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

Hello Lucas
A beautiful old steam locomotive. I`ve seen a tram in San Francisco been turned the same way, manually. It`s truly a beautiful and fascinating scene. You got a really good sky as well. Lovely work:) TFS.

Hi Lucas
now that's a cool way to turn around the train! I bet one man can't do it...must be heavy and straining on the back. great shot with the clouds, royal blue sky, and the men actively pushing it works too. cool shot. cheers

A fine presentation with the old fashioned locomotive being moved around by the hard-working rail servicemen. It truly looks like a fantastic spot for tourists, the richness of nature must be overwhelming too. Worth a trip consideration. TFS!!!

Hola Lucas,
I love this!
This is an engine with a cowcatcher on the front!
Steam engines will always have a fascination for us and this is a very fine example, being turned physically on a turntable.
There is lots of b/g interest to your main focus, too.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Ola Lucas This is a splendid nostalgic view of a manual turntable for train engines! I see many people watching this interesting manoeuvre from the railcar and from the platform; they give life to this impelling piece of history captured by the rules book! Abraços

Hi Ola dear Lucas
Wow this so old Steam Locomotive (SL) is still in operation! That is so fantastic! In Jpan there are some SLs still in operation but due to short of spare parts, the numbers are decreasing rapidly. The best framework and nice color touch too.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Fascinating. I've seen this kind of facility in Poland but always far away, from a train window. It's amazing one can visit and actually see how train turning was performed.
