Inside JK Memorial there are lots of clothes, portraits, rich dresses of Lady Sara, objects, photos, videos, posters, medals, etc.
The old photos of those days are the best, the years of the Juscelino Kubitschek government are named "The Golden Years", to make a contrast with the long military dictatorship named "the Years of Lead".During the golden years Brazil produced a so fast development that Brazilians had the notion they soon would reach the first position between the nations of the world.
JK had an intense charisma and was a very smart political leader, he had to face many social rebellions, he encouraged the industry, created dams and long highways across the country, but of course he left a not good economic heritage after his government.
Inside the memorial I could to choose any one of the many portraits showing JK: he and his family, he and the queen of UK, he and JFK, he in a ball, he walking in the dirty ground while Brasilia was being created in the wilderness.. But I liked a lot this portrait. It was a scene of a popular lunch in some corner of central Brazil, probably in Goiás or Minas Gerais. This poor old lady wanted to pose at side of this special man, we can see his own dignity in the moment and how she was proud of him and had a big hope in his work. She made me remember many ladies exactly like her I knew when I was a little boy.

Dentro do Memorial JK temos uma série de objetos, fotografias, pôsteres, medalhas, vestidos de festa de Dona Sara, vídeos e etc..
Contudo para mim uma das coisas mais bonitas eram as velhas fotografias mostrando os "Anos Dourados" do governo JK. Nessa época o Brasil teve um desenvolvimento rápido e os brasileiros tiveram a ideia de que logo alcançariam o primeiro posto entre as nações da terra. JK abriu imensas rodovias pelo sertão, incentivou muito a indústria e criou barragens e a nova capital, teve ainda que enfrentar rebeliões sociais, mas tinha grande carisma e liderança política. Contudo, deixou uma má herança econômica.
Dentre as velhas fotos eu poderia ter escolhido aquela em que ele está numa festa de gala, ou uma dele com a família, ele com JFK, ele caminhando pelo sertão vendo as obras de Brasília... Mas escolhi essa foto de uma festa simples em algum ponto do centro do Brasil, uma velha senhora está a seu lado, posando para fotos, orgulhosa do presidente. Vemos a sua dignidade e esperança. Ela me lembra muitas velhinhas que eu conheci quando era um menino.
