�Villa de Leyva - Kite City�

On one of my previous pictures of Villa de Leyva you could already see a kite.

I also mentioned that the atmosphere is very different depending on whether you抮e visiting this town on weekends or during the week.

In the weekend Villa de Leyva is very popular with the residents of Bogot�.
Then the Plaza Mayor and its surroundings become a true Kite City.

Dag Paul,

Ik ben heel blij dat u deze foto heeft genomen.
Deze foto is echt technisch volmaakt.
Het meisje in vol actie, de kleuren van haar vlieger zijn zacht en toch aangenaam.
Het koppel loopt echt de scene binnen wat echt de foto sterker maakt.
De man met masker op de bak lijkt mij meer een dubieus geval.
Het is echt een mooi beeld. Bedankt.

Die vlieger zorgt voor een aantrekkelijke kleurexplosie ten opzichte van de keien van het plein. Het meisje heeft er bijpassende schoenen bij aangetrokken. Een mooie impressie van deze plek.

Hello Paul,
Three very attractive photos, all of which could have been main uploads. This one has the strongest focus on just one person, facing us, and is the "cleanest" composition of the three. I am deeply impressed that you saved the heads of all the persons in the background. Even the man on the bench avoided a haircut. I find it very difficult to notice such background details when I am busy with the object in the foreground. Maybe you were just lucky.

Hello Paul,

Any of your shots would have been worthy of posting but, given the choice, there is something so very special about this one.
The three figures are perfectly positioned in the frame, the couple in the b/g, (unaware of the dilemma with the kite) add greater attention on the young girl and her concentration on the colourful kite.
It's a charming shot and one that had to be snapped immediately!
It is improbable that the exact situation will ever be repeated!

Il ne semble pas manquer de vent sur cette belle place de village. J'aime bien ces pav閟 o� l'herbe tente sa chance dans les fissures. Le cadrage est beau sur la jeune fille et son cerf volant. Tr鑣 jolies couleurs.

I am glad you posted this as a follow up to yesterdays shot because at first I couldn't figure out why there was no man guiding the para-sail. As in this shot:

I like the bright colors of this kite against the stone floor. The WS photos are also very nice, and I especially like the one of the kite seller, and the boy moving his kite around in a blur. It's nice to have just a few people in the background, and allow the girl to be the star of the scene. I just noticed the "masked man" sitting on the bench, too. :-)

this is one of those photos which i think most of us, if not all of us, can relate to. when i look at it, its so easy to think back to personal memories of myself flying kites.
that makes this scene enjoyable. we put ourselves in place of the little girl. bright colors, and thanks for the WS photos too. cheers

Hello Paul, Nice series of the pictures, so many kites in the Workshops. all pictures are very nice. I would think the kites are Chinese specialty, but I haven't seen kites in China. Excellent picture, nice composition, fine colours.
