Photographer's Note

Her home overlooks the beautiful Lake Ozogoche. It was difficult to breathe in the thin air, and walking from the jeep to the lake felt more strenuous than the short 3 kilometers that it was. I saw a young girl with her sheep on top of a hillock, it looked like a photo opporunity and as I climbed to reach her I could hear my breath getter shorter and feel my heart pounding. My hands were shaking from exertion as I tried to steady my camera and kneel before her. I can only imagine how hard life must be in this high barren environment

Hi Elaine. A sweet double portrait. I like the quizzical look she is giving you- the lamb I mean. Colourful dress, obviously a much loved little daughter. Excellent clarity and suggestive, blurred background. best wishes. Klaudio.

Magnificent portrait to a young lady in remote and high country, dressed with her traditional cloths and acompanied by her (young) sheep.
But the most attractive element in this photo, is her face expression: inspite the difficult life around there - she looks content and happy, posing for you in a charming way.
Fine taken moment, interesting life from another far country.

This is a captivating photo. maybe not worth dying for, but almost ;-). The girl and the lamb are both incredibly cute and both are posing very nicely, looking straight at you. The mild colours and soft contrasts indicate that you were more or less on a level with the clouds. It actually looks like a cloud in the background to the left.

Hello Elaine, I like this title and maybe it is even maria with her lamb. How lovely shot is this. I was so delighted to see the kid in Peru or Ecuador with their animals - sheep or small lamas. How funny that the sheep looks so interested in you. Life must be hard in this high altitude, but they are probably used to it. When I was in Tibet, I felt OK and my husband was quite exhausted being for the first time so high.

This is very cute indeed but also a vey well taken portrait in difficult high altitude conditions. The strong colours of her clothing stand out against the BG. You have used a shallow DOF very well.

Life must be really hard there but it's also true that they are more used to that climate and altitude than us. Everything seems perfect here, I like every detail including the pose of the lamb that seem to be smiling to the camera and the typical clothes of the little girl are just wonderful. Well framed with very good focus!
