Postcard from Wadowice, a photo from Malopolskie, East

Photographer's Note

Wadowice, a little town not far from Krakow, is mainly known for the fact that it was the birthplace of late Karol Wojtyla (Saint Pope John Paul II). In October this year there will be a 40 anniversary of him being selected to become the Pope. Since he has mentioned in one of his memoirs that he enjoyed going for certain type of local cakes (kremowka) there are plenty of cafes in the town claiming that they sell the original papal kremowkas. I have visited Wadowice last year on the way to an amusement park nearby and decided I must taste the kremowkas myself. It was late afternoon and the sun was still reflected in the church tower clock, but its light was rather dissipated through thin layer of clouds.
The church in this photo is the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Bazylika Ofiarowania NMP).

Hello Mariusz,
Great view of this square and the church in the background, which looks great in this soft sunlight, which also very nicely hits the window in the tower. You included the fountain very well on the right hand side too.

Hello Mariusz,

I like the graphism of the white church with the black onion dome top. Good sharpness and the plumes of fountain water in the fg add depth and animate the scene. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
This church has a very remarkable facade and tower.
The fountain with the high water spray provides an attractive foreground and frames the view of the church well at one side.
Looking at the people on the square, this picture has clearly a summer mood.
I must admit I have never heard of kremowkas.

Oh, I was waiting to read your opinion on the cake!
Never mind, I will have to suffice with the photograph!
I wonder if you timed the photograph to co-incide with the fountain surging upwards!
The fountain does make a pleasing, f/g, focal image, as well as filling some of the empty sky space.
It also creates a good sense of depth across the square to the church.
The church demonstrates some unusual architecture, with the sunlight creating the impression of a bright light. Someone would see some divine inspiration, I am sure!
The inclusion of so many figures makes the whole scene lively and socialable.

its funny to see the dark onion shape dome up top, if you let you mind wander a little, its as if the church is wearing a hat haha

this is certainly a more traditional view compared to your previous post. both are very attractive though. Its great to have both and to change it up from time to time. the soft light is beautiful too, classy shot and presentation.

this one is a really nice postcard of this city, caught efficiently by means of a good framing.
You offers us here the singular beauty of the architecture of the church, in a scene that includes the water jets of the fountain and people in the square, two elements that add a good dynamic sense in the composition.
The soft light offers us a soft and natural colors as well.
