Photographer's Note
Usually any image of Jesus show him serious or sad, it is rare to find an image of him smiling and ever more rare to see him laughing. This is the reason I choose this piece of Albert & Victoria Museum to show you. It is only a view of a mother smiling with the joy of her baby, the artwork puts Jesus and Mary closer of us.
Virgin With Child Smiling, 1465, Florence, by Antonio Rossellino, but there are theories saying it was created by Da Vinci or Verocchio.
.....................

Hello Jorge,
Your notes exactly match my thoughts as I studied your photograph!
Mary is looking with infinite pleasure at her small son who is, chuckling away, like so many babies do, when they are happy!
It's a fine study of mother and son, well captured in your photograph and a good choice from the museum.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jorge,
Indeed, an original sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary and child. You have captured it to perfection with well rendered colours and detailing.

Hello Jorge,
What a very beautiful sculpture. The baby laughing and his mother smiling proudly makes it so natural and intimate that the religious significance is easily forgotten. It doesn't matter who made it, except maybe for estimating its value on the art market, but I suppose it will never be for sale anyway. It's a very well taken photo with nicely handled light.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Jorge,
Amicalement

A good close-up photo of this artwork, excellent sharpness and lighting. This laughing Jesus looks great, I guess he is being tickled.

Hello Jorge
A superb sculpture of the baby Jesus and Virgin Mary with both seeming to be enjoying a particular moment. The Italian Renaissance was a pivotal event in European history. Tfs!
