Puerta de Tierra, a photo from Campeche, Southeast

Photographer's Note

The Puerta de Tierra (Gate to Land) is one of the symbols of the walled city of Campeche. It dates from 1732 and is located between two bastions. It was the access to the city by land.
Out of its original 2720 meters length, only a span of 400 meters of wall is still standing. This part of the wall retains the parapet walk which connects the bastions and the gate.

Hello Pedro,

This looks like a most imposing, ancient wall and gate. It gives the impression that it surrounds and protects the city. I was sad to learn that only a small part of it still remains.
I like how you have used the stone, cobbled path, in your f/g. It adds to the sense of strength and makes an irresistible guide to the gateway.

Hello Pedro,
A good photo of the old walls and the gate in the middle. I also like how the wide stone path in the foreground leads up towards the gate. The composition is well-balanced and I like the pleasant light.

Hello Pedro,
The large paving stones lead us to the imposing wall and the huge gate.
On the other side we catch a glimpse of a white-painted house.
Cannons from more perilous times are still stationed at the gate.
